Offering sustainable transport. That is one of the five strategic pillars of E. van Wijk Logistics. Optimal loading, driving with modern trucks and on sustainable fuels, and electrification are just some of the means by which we can achieve this goal.

Through these initiatives we have already achieved three Lean and Green stars. Lean and Green is the leading CO2 reduction program in the logistics sector. E. van Wijk Logistics has been a participant in the Lean and Green program since July 2, 2015.

Three Lean and Green stars

On September 20, 2023, E. van Wijk Logistics was awarded the third Lean and Green star. E. van Wijk received this third star based on a CO2 reduction of up to 44% between 2015 and 2023.

CO2 reduction and offering sustainable transport is a high priority at E. van Wijk Logistics and is therefore one of its strategic pillars. Several sustainable initiatives have realized the achievement of our goals:

  • Installation of 2800 solar panels on the warehouse
  • Mega-battery for storing solar energy
  • Renewal of the vehicle fleet
  • The use of sustainable fuels
  • The purchase of 10 electric trucks
  • Driver performance to support drivers to drive even more economically
  • Smart use of data and planning software
